Another legend is gone. Donna Summer died today. She had a great voice.

I just learned the godfather of the American Muscle car and racing legend, Carroll Shelby has passed away at age 89. He became the second American born driver to win the 24 hour Le Mans race in France in 1959. He was forced to retire in 1960 due his heart condition. After that he designed the legendary Shelby Cobra and the Mustang for Ford. He also was one of the founder of the International Chili Society. If you go the grocery store, you'll find Carroll Shelby's chili.

That's the best way of trying to get around Northeast Ohio. Exit ramps and major highways are closed. Following detours is annoying. Typical for here at this time of year. Why would they close some of the detours? Not smart. But what do you expect?

Today, I went to the Canton Art Museum's National Art show. The artists were nice. The parking lot was full but hardly anyone was at the show. The entrance and exit for the show was on the other side of the building. While walking on the sidewalk back to my car, I was approached by a panhandler. He was demanding money. I told him to get away from me or I'll scream. I was alone. I hated to admit I was scared. That never happened to me before in broad daylight. In Cleveland, the panhandlers hang out around after concerts and bug people for money. They also hang out by the expressway exit ramps. Panhandling is legal in parts of Ohio if they have a permit. I wish it was still illegal. The panhandlers are more aggressive than they used to be.

I used to think so. Now, I'm not so sure. I know too many unhappy married people. Those people thought they were so in love. Now, they sometimes can't stand the sight of each other.
